Career Plans |
Continue growing my business and making positive contributions to East Whiteland Fire Company. |
|
Why did you join the fire department? |
My high school friend since third grade Gary Sheridan had joined in the previous Spring when he turned 16. His stories and experiences got me interested, I participated in the Housing and Parade that summer, and when I turned 16 in October I submitted my application. I have been an active member ever since even during my 2 years at College. |

What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire department? |
My family and I are NASCAR fans and we go to different races during the year. We love to go camping and camp at the races in our 5th wheel camper. As my sons got older we also bought a vacation home in the Poconos and we enjoy spending weekends there as well. |
|
What do you like best about being part of the fire department? |
Helping to serve the residents of East Whiteland Township in their time need. I am proud to be an officer of this Association and help to guide the department in its conversion from a 100% Volunteer company to a combination Career/Volunteer company. I am proud to be chairman of the Apparatus committee planning for our new Apparatus needs. |

What is your most memorable incident? |
The Schmidt Family Fire in 1983. A training accident that severely injured another life member. A Building Fire at Camilla Hall when I was a young second Lieutenant and Officer in Command. Tour Bus accident on route 202. Motorcycle accident on the Turnpike shortly after we started covering that road. Sunoco tanker Fire in Charleston and rollover accident on RT 29.
