On Friday evening at 10:09 PM the East Whiteland Fire Company was dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at D'Anjolell Memorial Homes at 392 Lancaster Ave in Frazer. Upon the arrival of Engine 5-1, the crew noticed a smoke condition and Lieutenant DeMarco requested an upgrade to a working fire dispatch. Engine 5-5 had already arrived and was ready to extend a hose line from the nearest hydrant, also requesting Route 30 be closed. East Whiteland Tactical Fire Police already on the scene had the highway shut down at Church Road and Beechwood Avenue before the dispatch was made. Additional units responded from Malvern, Paoli, and Berwyn. Malvern Fire Company's Ladder 4 was utilized for roof work and additional fire police from Paoli were on the scene. Route 30 traffic was detoured through Frazer View. East Whiteland Township Police, PECO Service, and Fire Marshal's were also on location. Great work by all personnel.
