New Fire House Getting Close

On Monday August 11 members of the East Whiteland Fire Company were invited to a walk-thru of the new fire house building site. Much work has been done and the roof could be on in September. Moving day could be January, depending on the weather. Rob Fenza from Liberty Property Trust was the host and also the chef, providing some delicious hamburgers and hot dogs. Thanks Rob! Tanker Class for Firefighters

Area fire departments recently joined together in a Tanker Class given by state fire instructor Mike Risell. The companies involved were Valley Forge, Malvern, East Whiteland, Paoli, Lionville, and Kimberton. The purpose of the class was to instruct firefighters on the operation of tankers in the event of a major fire where the tankers would be providing a supply of water. The class was concluded ... Progress Report on the New Fire House Construction Site...the walls are up on the Route 401 side along with the tower. It is really starting to look like a building. "Beast of the East" Assists Delco 59 on Working Fire

News Desk, August 05

Around 2330 hours (11:30 pm) Engine 5-5 was dispatched along with 6 other tankers as part of a "Tanker Task Force" to assist Delaware County Station 59 (Concordville) on a building fire. With a crew of 6 still on station from training earlier in the evening, Engine 5-5 quickly made the response.

We are grateful to WCHE 1520 Radio and the Daily Local News for helping with this very serious issue. The U.S. Department of Transportation and The Federal Highway Administration have developed the TIM (Traffic Incident Management) program with the goal to reduce injury and death to Emergency Responders operating on the highway.
